시놉시스 Synopsis

영지는 시 대회 출전에 발판이 되어주는 교내 탁구 대회에 단식 선수 출전을 꿈꾼다. 그러나 학교에서 촉망받는 다른 선수에게 밀려 복식밖에 나갈 수 없게 된다. 그때 같은 반 친구 정하가 어릴 때 탁구 신동 소리를 들었다는 사실을 알게 된다. 정하를 설득하려 하지만 거절을 당하다가, 정하의 약점을 잡아 함께 복식을 나가게 된다. 열심히 연습했지만, 경기에서 진 둘. 이후 단식 선수에 공석이 생기고, 둘은 시 대회 출전 한 자리를 위해 단식 경기를 벌인다.

Young-ji dreams of participating in the school table tennis tournament, which is a stepping stone to participating in the city tournament. However, she will be forced to play doubles after being overshadowed by other promising player at school. Henceforth, Young-Ji knows her classmate Jung-Ha who was a well known table tennis prodigy during her childhood. She discovers Jung-Ha’s secret and use it against her to participate in doubles as her partner. They practiced hard together, but the two lost the game. Subsequently, a vacancy for singles open and the two must now compete each other for the spot in the city tournament.

내 목표도 이루고 싶고, 우정도 챙기고 싶은데 말이다.

친구에게 내 목표를 뺏긴 순간, 우리는 진심으로 친구를 축하해줄 수 있을까.

I want to achieve my goals and also preserve my friendship; however, yesterday’s colleague can become today’s enemy, life is truly overwhelming. The moment my goal is taken away from me by a friend would I be able to congratulate him/her with all sincerity?

1999년, 경기도 용인 출생. 서울예술대학교 영화과를 졸업했다. 단편영화 <두철이의 사랑>, <4 6 빌라>, <사장님 왜 웃어요> 등을 연출하였고, <탁!하면 구!>는 네번째 연출작이다.

Born in 1999 in Yong-in, South Korea. She graduated from Seoul Institute of the arts with a major in film. She has directed several short films, and <I SAY PING! YOU SAY PONG!> is her fouth film.
